Journal #2: The Waiting Game

I recently released The Sin I Forgot: Hell Remembers, and I’m proud of what I accomplished with it. At the same time, I’m playing the waiting game with submissions for my novels and screenplays.

I received a rejection for my upcoming novel, Afterimage, but I’m not upset about it. I expected rejection to be part of this process, and it doesn’t change how I feel about the book. Afterimage was my first sci-fi thriller, and I still like the job I did with it.

I’m not sure whether I can say I love writing yet, but I enjoy doing it, and I plan to keep going. I’m already thinking about what comes next, whether that becomes another novel or another screenplay. It all depends on which format fits the story best.

Right now, I’m learning that waiting is part of the work too. Once a story leaves my hands, I cannot control who accepts it, who rejects it, or how quickly anything happens. What I can control is whether I remain proud of what I created and whether I stay open to whatever idea comes next.

For now, that is enough.
