About J.R. Allen
I’m J.R. Allen, an author and screenwriter with a creative mind that rarely stops imagining stories. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a habit of turning ordinary thoughts into something more. Sometimes an idea comes from a conversation, something I’ve seen, or simply lying in bed letting my imagination wander. One thought leads to another, and before I know it, I’m creating characters, situations, and entire worlds in my head.
Some of those ideas become dark and disturbing. Others turn into emotional dramas, mysteries, or stories I never expected to write. That’s what I enjoy most about storytelling. I never really know where my imagination will take me. I never imagined I would take writing as seriously as I do today. For a long time, these stories existed only in my mind. Seeing those ideas become actual published novels has been one of the proudest accomplishments of my life. And I feel like I’m only getting started.
Books and Fiction
I don’t believe in limiting myself to one genre. I enjoy the freedom to explore different kinds of stories, whether it’s supernatural horror, psychological suspense, science fiction, drama, or something completely unexpected. My published novels include The Last Encore, Don’t Blink, Before I Was Human, I Knew Mercy, and The Sin I Forgot: Hell Remembers.
Each book represents a different part of my imagination. Some explore grief, ambition, and the choices people make. Others question morality, humanity, and the things we don’t always understand about ourselves. I want every story I write to offer readers something different. More importantly, I want to create characters and experiences that stay with them long after they’ve finished the final page.
Screenwriting
My creativity doesn’t stop with novels. I’ve also expanded into screenwriting, developing original projects such as DON’T YOU JUMP and BLADE ROYALE: THE HIDDEN BLADE.
Writing a screenplay challenges me in a different way. Instead of describing everything through words on a page, I have to imagine how a story unfolds visually, how characters express themselves, and how a single scene can communicate something powerful without saying much at all. Whether I’m writing a novel or a screenplay, my goal remains the same: to bring the stories in my imagination to life.
Beyond the Stories
Writing has become much more than a hobby or creative outlet. It’s something I genuinely take pride in. There was a time when I never thought about publishing novels or writing screenplays. I simply enjoyed creating stories. Now, looking at what I’ve accomplished, I’m grateful I decided to take those ideas seriously.
But there’s something more important to me than the books, the screenplays, or whatever success may come from them. My family, especially my children. Everything I’m working toward is about building something meaningful that I can one day leave behind for them.
Like any parent, I know I can’t protect my children from every hardship life may bring. But I hope my hard work and accomplishments can make their journey a little easier and open doors that might not have been available otherwise. I want them to be proud of what their father created. I want them to understand the importance of dedication, humility, and believing in themselves, even when success isn’t guaranteed. Most importantly, I want them to know how much I love them and that they have always been my greatest motivation.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, and that’s part of what makes it exciting. I still have stories to tell, characters to create, and ideas waiting to become something real. If you’ve taken the time to visit my website, explore my books, or read even a small part of my work, I sincerely appreciate it. I hope somewhere among these stories, you’ll discover something that stays with you.
