Hey everyone, I’m J.R., an author and screenwriter. I’ve been writing for years, but I finally decided to put my ideas on paper and share them with the world.

I like writing about whatever I’m feeling at that moment. I don’t want to be stuck writing only one type of story. I like being able to move around, try different ideas, and see where my imagination takes me.

My imagination has always been pretty active. Sometimes it takes over and creates nightmares, situations, or worlds in my head that I have to find my way out of. I’ve been dealing with that since I was a child. A lot of the time, writing is how I fight my way through those ideas and turn them into something I can actually use.

I also experience something I call Narrative Projection. I can watch people going about their lives and start imagining who they might be, where they’re going, what they’ve been through, and what kind of story could exist around that moment. I know what I imagine probably has nothing to do with their real life. That’s the point. My mind takes something ordinary and starts turning it into a story.

Sometimes a story starts with a person I saw for five seconds. Sometimes it starts with a nightmare. Sometimes it’s a scene, a question, or just one strange thought that refuses to leave me alone. Once it gets into my head, I start building around it.

That’s also why I don’t want to limit myself to one genre. I want the freedom to write whatever idea feels right at that time. If the story takes me somewhere dark, emotional, strange, dramatic, or completely different, I want to be able to follow it.

A big reason I made this site and this Journal is because I wanted a place where I could talk directly to readers. Not everything has to be a major announcement. Sometimes I might just talk about what I’m working on, an idea I can’t stop thinking about, something I learned while writing, or what I’m planning next.

I’m still building everything one project at a time, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of it here.
